Although I have not read this book but I truly believe that this book should not be pulled out of the competition because I do not think the author was truly tiring to make fun of the Jewish community. I think she wrote this book because she felt this way. I think there should be an organizations that is in charge of these kind of competition. I think the author should decide if this book is suitable for school libraries. Yes, I do think we are old enough to read controversial books and decide for ourselves if this book is appropriate. I would find more information by talking to the author and search the web.
Therefore I believe that this book should not be pulled out of the red maple.
